get to know me

Hi! I’m Miu

I’m a 18-year-old cosplayer and scare actor from the Netherlands.

I started cosplaying in 2018 through the Creepypasta fandom after seeing creators on Musical.ly (now known as TikTok) and that same year I went to my first conventions: El Mundo Fantasia and Heroes Dutch Comic Con.

Since then I’ve grown a lot, from closet cosplays to sewing my first full costume in 2024, and even entering my first competition. I especially enjoy cosplaying characters from games like Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and NIKKE, but I also create cosplays from anime and other media.

Outside of cosplay I’m a scare actor and I also perform as a furry at family-friendly Halloween events.

Cosplay continues to give me creativity, growth and unforgettable memories.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions about cosplay, scare-acting, or business related questions, feel free to ask them! I will try my best to answer them. Here you can find some questions that I have received before. If you still have a question, feel free to email me or send me a message on Instagram!

Do you make all of your own costumes?

I don’t make all of my costumes myself. I’ve started learning how to sew my own costumes and make props, but most of my cosplays are store-bought ones that I put my own twist on. Sometimes I edit parts of the costumes by sewing them or making certain pieces myself.

So far, I have made two costumes completely from scratch: my Welcome to My Religion Kangel and my Elderwood Ahri cosplay were both fully handmade. I also always style my wigs myself. I hope to make more of my own costumes and props in the future as I continue to improve my crafting skills!

How can I contact you for collaborations or questions?

It’s best to reach out to me through my email: miubicosplays@gmail.com , but i will also reply if you send me a message on my instagram: @miubicos

What does it mean to be a HoYoverse/NIKKE creator?

Being a HoYoverse and NIKKE creator means that I’m officially recognized as a content creator for these game companies. This also means I prioritize cosplaying characters from their games, and in return, I receive various benefits for promoting their games. You can become a content creator for these games by applying for it on their sites!

Specifically, I focus on cosplaying from the following games: NIKKE: Goddess of Victory, Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail. While I don’t currently play Honkai Impact and therefore don’t cosplay from it, I’m always open to exploring it in the future!

Of course, this doesn’t mean I’ll stop cosplaying from other games and anime’s, but these games are my main priority.

Where are you based?

I’m based in the Netherlands in Zuid-Limburg

What advice do you have for someone who wants to become a cosplayer or scare-actor?

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is simple: just do it.

When you’re starting out, whether it’s with cosplay or scare acting, you don’t need to be perfect on your very first try. Both of these are all about learning, exploring new skills, and having fun. In today’s world, it’s easy to feel the pressure to be perfect because of social media, which makes it hard not to compare yourself to others. But it’s perfectly fine and normal to be a beginner! Everyone starts somewhere. The best thing you can do is just be yourself and focus on the joy of learning.

For cosplay, you can always start small. Try doing a closet cosplay using clothes you already own or by modifying store-bought items. I started my own journey with clothes from my closet and wigs from a local store. It’s okay to take your time to grow and learn. You absolutely don’t have to be perfect, I’m not either!

For scare acting, I highly recommend watching videos beforehand to get ideas on how to act out certain characters and then practicing in front of a mirror. Before an event starts, don’t be afraid to reach out to other actors and ask for their advice. Based on my own experience at events, you really perfect your act in the moment itself. You can plan an entire act beforehand, but most of the time you’ll end up changing it on the spot. This could be because it doesn’t work as well on your audience, or it might not fit the location or the performances of other actors. So, don’t put too much pressure on yourself, and just have fun! Don’t be afraid to go all out!
